The Spectrum Center

The Spectrum Center was founded in 2014 with the purpose of being a resource and an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community in and around Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

The Spectrum Center is serving as a host location for meetings for various groups affiliated with the LGBTQ+ community. Currently we have free HIV testing, and other health-related functions through collaboration with the greater community; social functions and support groups. However, long-term plans include providing counseling,a community kitchen and pantry; and short-term emergency housing for LGBTQ+ youth who have been displaced. Please check out the calendar for upcoming events.

Through cooperation with community organizations like the AIDS Services Coalition, The Dandelion Project, and Joshua Generation MCC, The Spectrum Center is dedicated to advocate as well as provide resources in collaboration with these and other organizations to help provide for the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of the LGBTQ+ community and its allies.
